Audi unveils new BiTurbo TDI engine for A6, A7
German automaker Audi has unveiled a new 3.0 V6 BiTDI engine for the 2012 A6 and A7 six-cylinder diesel ranges.
The new engine will develop a total output of 313 hp, with a peak torque of 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) and is fitted with new start/stop system technology.
The new 3.0 V6 BiTDI engine will be debuted on the A6 sedan and mated to an eight-speed tiptronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive system allowing the model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds.
The German carmaker said that the A6 Avant and the A7 Sportback will also be powered by the new 3.0 V6 BiTDI engine which will deliver 44.1 mpg while reducing the carbon emissions.
According to the company, on the road (OTR) prices of the new models will start from GBP43,810 for the A6 saloon, GBP45,650 for the A6 Avant while the A7 will be priced at GBP51,645.
