AVL names new vice president of sales for AVL Powertrain Engineering

AVL has appointed Thomas VanderLaan as the new vice president of sales for AVL Powertain Engineering.

In his new role at AVL, VanderLaan will be responsible for the company's ongoing drive to transformational business growth across all sectors, including electric and hybrid applications.

Prior to joining AVL, he served as the vice president of global automotive and hybrid sales at Remy International.

AVL Americas chairman and CEO Don Manvel said that the company believes he is an right choice to leverage the strides Dimitri Kazarinoff has made in the last year, and further evidence of its commitment to make the moves necessary to enable AVL to thrive in the future.

AVL is involved in the development, simulation and testing technology of powertrains for passenger cars, trucks and large engines.
