Bugatti extends DCT production contract with Ricardo

French carmaker Bugatti has extended its contract with Ricardo for the production of Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) system which will be equipped in the Veyron supercar.

As per the contract, Ricardo will supply the seven-speed DTC systems for two more years which will be manufactured at the Ricardo's Leamington facility in UK.

Ricardo high performance transmission products director Mark Barge said the company is really pleased to see a further extension of the partnership with Bugatti on the dual clutch transmission of the Veyron, a supercar that represents the ultimate in high quality automotive design, engineering and manufacture.

"We look forward to two further very successful years in the story of this truly great automobile with its advanced Ricardo transmission," Barge said.

The Ricardo and Bugatti joint venture has developed the both the transmission hardware and its electronic control unit and software for the transmission system.

Ricardo also manufactures and supplies the transmissions for all versions of the Veyron since its launch.
