Delphi expands fuel portfolio with Ford fuel hanger pumps

Delphi, a supplier of technologies for automotive market, has expanded to its fuel product portfolio with the addition of 108 Ford fuel hanger pumps and sending unit assemblies.

The launch will cover a total of almost 20 million vehicles which include 1996 - 2007 Ford F-Series, Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis, Taurus, Super Duty and Expedition/Navigator applications.

The company said that these part numbers will launch in phases throughout the first half of 2011 where as the first set of part numbers were launched on January, 2011 with 36 SKUs covering 9.2 million vehicles.

Delphi Ford hanger pumps will provide technicians a repair alternative with OE technology, wider application coverage and a competitive price.

By using its OE Gen IV turbine pump, the company is using latest fuel pump technology to upgrade older applications for the highest level of performance.

The company said that its fuel module, known for fast-pressure rise for quick engine starts, also features internal springs, an integrated OE fuel vapor pressure sensor and two-strainer system for long-lasting durability.

The company used its Packard OE wiring for increased reliability, which are developed to meet all vehicle manufacturer OE specifications for durability and corrosion resistance.

Delphi vice president of global independent aftermarket and product & service solutions Lucia Veiga Moretti said as the company that makes the parts cars are born with, they have applied their OE engineering and high quality standards to develop their Ford product line.

"Delphi continues to add relevant and timely parts to its already comprehensive fuel management offering," Moretti said.

"Technicians now have another option when repairing Ford fuel pumps, and they get that alternative from the Delphi brand.

"This launch is truly an example of Delphi DNA at work with our OE design inside every one of these parts."
