ABR Staff Writer Published 13 March 2014

EcoMotors (EM) has expanded its manufacturing and testing capabilities by acquiring Katech, a US-based manufacturer of advanced engines and powertrains.

With this acquisition, EcoMotors research, design and manufacture advanced engine technologies through testing, research and development, and manufacturing capabilities of Katech.

The company will also maintain the core business of Katech by offering new paths for growth.

EM president and chief operating officer Amit Soman said that the purchase of Katech will significantly grow EM's ability to bring things from design to life at a rapid pace.

"With this, we are adding a remarkable team with a long-standing reputation for high quality and a proven track record in the space," Soman added.

Tony Mannarino has been named as the CEO of Katech and to oversee day-to-day operations.

Katech will operate as the Katech brand maintaining its current business operations and staff under EM.
