Fiat Powertrain deploys Parsec's TrakSYS for automotive manufacturing operations

ABR Staff Writer Published 17 May 2011

Fiat Powertrain has deployed Parsec Automation's TrakSYS to provide manufacturing operations solutions for its automobile engine plant assembly and machining operations in Brazil.

The company said that this is its second plant in Brazil that has opted Parsec's TrakSYS real-time manufacturing operations and performance management software to leverage World-Class Manufacturing (WCM) business initiatives.

The selection of Parsec technology aligns with the company's strategic focus on 11 key objectives that include safety, cost deployment, focused improvement, autonomous maintenance, job organization, professional maintenance, quality control, logistics client services, early equipment management, people development, and the environment.

Parsec Automation director of marketing Thomas Muth said Fiat Powertrain, in pursuit of WCM, has taken full advantage of TrakSYS operations and performance industrial automation technology to enable an integrated solution that will be continuously improving plant efficiency and reliability.

Parsec has teamed up with its partner HSI Sistemas Industriais to deliver solutions that focus on the elimination of waste, target a zero-level of equipment breakdowns and quality defects, provide better operator involvement in continuous improvement and increase productivity for Fiat Powertrain's assembly and machining lines.
