Great Wall Motors signs strategic cooperation with Ricardo

China's SUV maker Great Wall Motors has signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation with UK engineering company Ricardo to jointly develop gasoline engines and DCT 6-speed transmission.

Under the terms of technical R&D of advanced powertrain system, Ricardo will provide Great Wall with overall and in-depth technical services and management services, so as to guarantee the effective application of new technologies to Great Wall vehicles.

Ricardo is engaged in vehicle powertrain technology development, engine and gearbox design and manufacturing that featuring engineering technologies in engine assembly control, electronics and software development as well as updated power transmission systems.

The company said that it closely collaborates with the companies in the synchronous development of some core automotive components and advanced technologies.
