Guangxi Yuchai launches eight engines for different vehicle segments in China

ABR Staff Writer Published 29 January 2014

Guangxi Yuchai Machinery (GYMCL), a main operating subsidiary of China Yuchai International, has launched eight new engine models in China.

All the engines introduced meet the National IV emission standards and are designed for the truck and bus markets in China.

The eight engines are YC4E-48, YC4D20, YC6MK, YC4S-48, YCHPT II, YC6G220L-T31, YC4FA45-T30 and YC6CL1035L-C20.

YC4E-48 is a light-truck diesel engine, which was developed for short to mid range transportation. It can be used for urban logistical uses, special purpose vehicles and other vehicles.

Features of this engine include a two-valve cylinder head combined with a Bosch common rail system paired with EGR, DOC and POC technologies.

Developed by GYMCL and AVL Powertrain Engineering, the YC4D20 is a 2L diesel engine. It is suitable for SUVs, MPVs, N2 light-duty trucks and buses.

It features four valves per cylinder, double overhead camshafts, high-pressure common rail injection technology, an electric EGR valve and variable swirl intake system.

YC6MK is a redesigned 400HP engine for on-road trucks. It offers enhanced low-speed torque improving stability when using high-speed gears.

The YC4S-48 is an upgraded version of the YC4S engine, which is suitable for high-end, light-truck market. It features a common rail system paired with EGR, DOC and POC technologies.

GYMCL's YCHPT II is a second-generation hybrid engine. It features plug-in systems to charge the vehicles' batteries, an upgraded gearbox with an interchangeable five speed automatic and manual system.

YC6G220L-T31 series is a 7.8L engine developed as a replacement to the company's 5MT loaders' 10L standard displacement engine.

Features of this engine include a turbocharged intercooling system and an electronically controlled fuel injection system.
