Mahindra launches Xylo E9 with new 5MT320 transmission in India
India-based Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has launched the new Xylo E9 featuring 5MT320 transmission in India.
The new transmission was jointly developed by Ricardo and Mahindra which will be mated to 2.2-litre mHAWK engine offering 120 PS peak power and 280 Nm torque.
Mahindra & Mahindra driveline senior general manager Sanjay Gill said the new all-new Xylo provides a stylish vehicle choice that will appeal to both existing and new customers looking for product options across the sedan, MPV and SUV sectors.
"In creating a high quality, technology packed product such as this, we are particularly happy of the way in which we have worked with Ricardo to develop the brand new transmission of the premium E9 variant," Gill said.
Ricardo India president, Mayank Agochiya said this project involved engineers working in close collaboration in the UK and India, bringing together the most appropriate mix of skills and resources to deliver precisely the product required by Mahindra for the demands of its customers in India.
